Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) authorities on Tuesday reportedly demolished structures that had encroached large portions of the main road at HUDA Sai Nagar Colony in Vanasthalipuram.
According to reports, illegal structures, which were 150 feet in length and nearly 4 feet in width had encroached a large portion of Road number 5 at Sai Nagar colony, Vanasthalipuram.
The encroachments were demolished on Tuesday by GHMC authorities after sustained campaigning and repeated complaints from local residents. In fact, reports suggested that the local residential welfare associations had a court order directing authorities to take-up demolition of the illegal structure.
Based on the court’s orders, the GHMC officials carried out the demolition. However, the local residents also alleged that the demolition was only partial and that the encroached structures were not completely removed. They are now demanding a complete removal of the encroachment to restore the main road.
