Hyderabad: Withstanding the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the real estate market in the city continues to flourish unhindered.
The positive trend for the sector gets reflected from a considerable increase in the revenues realised by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) through building permissions so far during the current financial year. According to the civic body, an amount of Rs 412.66 crore was generated through building permissions so far this financial year, which happens to be Rs 158 crore more compared to the same period the previous year.
The increased income of GHMC’s town planning wing is also attributed to the Telangana State Building Permission Approval and Self-Certification System (TS-bPASS). The State government introduced TS-bPASS to issue seamless and hassle-free building plan approvals and was launched by MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao in November 2020.
Since the launch of TS-bPASS and till September 23 this year, the GHMC has received 7,766 applications under it. Of the applications received, 4,572 were accepted while 1,519 were rejected and the remaining were under process.
Citizens can visit https://tsbpass.telangana.gov.in to apply for building permission as well as to obtain an occupancy certificate. The checklist, timelines, user manual and options for citizens to search the status of application is available. Telangana is the first State in the country to provide such a complete online service pertaining to building permits. Citizens can obtain NOC from all the line departments using a single common application form in TS-bPASS.
The GHMC on Friday issued an advisory on building permits asking applicants to indicate the correct existing width of the abutting road. Some building permissions were also rejected as the applicant did not submit proper link documents along with ownership documents.
The civic body appealed people to start construction only after receiving the work commencement letter, since the permission has to be confirmed post verification.
“Applicants should check all the details thoroughly before obtaining instant approvals and avoid any misrepresentation of facts leading to revocation of the building permission,” cautioned GHMC in a statement.
