Hyderabad: To contain the spread of Covid-19, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) continued its door-to-door survey on Wednesday and tabled the list of people having fever and other Covid symptoms.
A total of 707 teams, comprising field-level workers from the GHMC and the Health Department, surveyed 41,305 households in the GHMC limits. “Teams referred about 19,090 persons to Basthi Dawakhanas and Urban Primary Health Centres (UPHCs) for undergoing Covid tests,” according to a press release.
Each team consists field-level workers, an Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM), an Accredited Social Health Activist (ASHA), and an official from the GHMC’s Entomology wing. The teams will also follow up the health condition of the people who underwent the Covid test. The survey was monitored by zonal commissioners and deputy commissioners.
The municipal corporation also took up disinfectant spraying in areas where a large number of fever cases were reported during the survey. Officials said the teams of doctors working in the Covid Control room were providing information on issues related to Covid-19. “People are getting assistance over phone. The Control Room is providing information on issues related to Covid-19 and also on measures being taken to contain the pandemic,” an official said.
