Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on Friday launched a state-of-the-art digitalisation initiative to streamline asset tracking and enhance operational efficiency within the organisation.

Henceforth, the GHMC will digitally track every purchase of electronic peripherals such as CPUs, monitors, cables, laptops, mobile phones, and tablets.

In a press release, the civic body stated that several officials and departments frequently acquired electronic peripherals, while the IT department distributed laptops, mobile phones, and tablets to officials based on their roles. However, it was observed that records of previously issued items were incomplete, leading to possible misuse.

To address this, the GHMC has introduced a digitised inventory management system that will facilitate real-time monitoring and reporting, enabling timely maintenance and replacement of outdated or faulty equipment.
