GHMC organises Indie puppy adoption drive at KBR Park; 30 find homes
The GHMC organised an Indie puppy adoption mela at KBR Park in Banjara Hills on Valentine’s Day. Of the 50 vaccinated puppies available, 30 were adopted. Ministers and officials attended the event, promoting responsible pet ownership and reducing stray dogs.

Hyderabad: Coinciding with Valentine’s Day, an Indie puppy adoption mela was organised by the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) at KBR Park, Banjara Hills, on Saturday. The event aimed at promoting responsible pet ownership and reducing the number of stray dogs on the streets through adoption.
At the mela, 50 healthy, dewormed and vaccinated Indie puppies of various types were put up for adoption. Animal lovers and families in large numbers turned up at the venue and supported the cause, with 30 puppies finding homes.
Ministers Seethakka and Konda Surekha, along with MP Renuka Chowdhury, inaugurated the adoption drive, interacted with visitors, and personally handed over puppies to citizens who came forward to adopt them.
Khairatabad Zonal Commissioner Priyanka Ala, GHMC Chief Veterinary Officer Dr Abdul Wakeel, Deputy Director Dr Rama Krishna, and other officials were present.
