GHMC organises walkathon to promote public participation in Census 2027
A walkathon was organised at Hyderabad’s Necklace Road to create awareness about citizen participation in Census 2027. Actress Amala Akkineni and GHMC Commissioner RV Karnan flagged off the event, while officials urged the public to cooperate in accurate and comprehensive census data collection.

Hyderabad: To create awareness among citizens on their participation in enumeration process for the Census 2027, a walkathon was organised at Necklace Road.
Actress Amala Akkineni and RV Karnan, GHMC Commissioner and Principal Census Officer for the ‘Core Urban Region Economy’ (CURE) area, flagged off the walkathon on Monday.
Bharati Hollikeri, Director of Census, appealed to citizens to provide correct information and actively support census officials to ensure comprehensive and reliable data collection. Karnan stated that awareness programmes like walkathons help in reaching every section of society and encourage community involvement in nation-building activities.
Participants carried placards and raised slogans highlighting the significance of self-enumeration and public cooperation during the census process.
