Hyderabad: Campaigning for the GHMC elections will end by 6 pm on November 29 in the entire GHMC where the elections are notified, Secretary, Telangana State Election Commission (TSEC), M Ashok Kumar said on Saturday.
After 6 pm on Sunday, no person should convene, hold, attend, join or address any public meeting or procession in connection with an election. They should not display an election matter by means of cinematography, television or other similar apparatus. Also, no person should propagate any election matter to the public by holding or by arranging the holding of, any musical concert or any theatrical performance or any other entertainment or amusement with a view to attract public, TSEC in a press release said.
Any contravention of this provision is law is offence punishable with imprisonment that may extend to two years or with fine or both under Section 600 (2) of GHMC Act, 1955.
