Hyderabad: Considering the Covid-19 pandemic, the Telangana State Election Commission has decided to extend the option of postal ballot facility to the differently-abled electors, voters above 80 years age and those who tested positive for Covid-19.

Generally, postal ballots are provided to service personnel and their wives, persons who are under preventive detention and those who are on election duty.

The guidelines:

– Differently-abled electors aged over 80 years and corona positive tested after November 1

– Voters can apply for postal ballot through application Form-XXII-A physically or through tsec.gov.in website

– Application can be downloaded from website or obtained from RO office

– Voters have to enclose any one among the self-attested Aadhaar or EPIC card or passport having photograph as address, identity and age proof along with application

– In case voters tested corona positive after November 1, they have to enclose recent medical test certificate and self-attested Aadhaar or EPIC card or passport with the form

– Signed physical applications along with enclosures should be sent to Returning Officer’s office or Dep. Municipal Commissioner office by post only

– Once a postal ballot issued, the voter has to cast vote through postal ballot only

– Voter has to apply at least seven days prior to the day of poll.

– After scrutiny, voter will get a packet sent by RO, containing postal ballot, declaration form – XXVI-A, smaller cover marked ‘A’ and larger cover marked ‘B’ and instructions form XXIX-A, by post
