Hyderabad: Property Tax Parishkaram, the weekly programme to resolve issues related to property tax, received over 250 applications since it commenced on February 6. The programme will continue every Sunday till March 27.
In addition to receiving the applications, over 40 applications have been disposed on the spot and the remaining one will be resolved soon, said Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) officials.
Several applicants sought revision of property tax citing that the plinth area mentioned in the records and usage of their land were wrongly mentioned. Property Tax Identification Number identification number being generated twice, change in name and door number were the other issues reported. Some tax payers also requested for waving off unauthorised construction penalty levied citing that the penalty was wrongly imposed.
This weekly programme will continue every Sunday till March 27 in all GHMC circle offices between 9.30 am and 1 pm. The officials will be present to receive and dispose off the applications. On February 27 and March 6, 13, 20 and 27, the GHMC circle offices can be visited to get issues related to property tax resolved.
“Some people who did not pay the property tax due to pending issues are now coming forward to pay it after their application was disposed on the spot. This is adding revenue to the civic body coffers,” said a GHMC official.
