GHMC to hold third edition of sacred collection drive on July 18
The GHMC will organise the third edition of Udvasana, a sacred waste collection drive, on July 18 at 12 centres across six city zones. Citizens can deposit worn‑out idols, deity photographs and other sacred materials at designated temples and centres.

Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will conduct the third edition of Udvasana, a sacred waste collection drive, at 12 collection centres across six zones—Charminar, Secunderabad, Rajendranagar, Shamshabad, Khairatabad and Golconda—on July 18.
A press statement on Wednesday said the sacred waste collections include old deity photographs, damaged frames, worn-out idols, pooja items, calendars and other sacred materials.
The GHMC said it has identified new collection centres, including seven temples in Ameerpet circle, Sri Venkateshwara Swamy Devasthanam in Moosarambagh circle, Sri Venkateshwara Swamy temple in Attapur circle, Kashi Bugga Shiva temple in Badangpet circle, Sitaram Bagh temple in Goshamahal circle, and Sri Shirdi Sai Baba Devalaya Nirmana Samsthan in Musheerabad circle.
The press release said sacred waste will also be collected at existing collection centres on July 18: Bhu Lakshmi Mandir in Charminar Zone, Shiva Anjaneya Swamy Temple in Secunderabad Zone, Sri Venkateswara Temple, Hari Hari Kshetram in Rajendra Nagar Zone, Sri Dharm Sai Mandir in Shamshabad Zone, Sri Sri Sri Mahankali Pochamma Devalayam in Khairatabad Zone, and Sri Vishwa Anjaneya Bhaktha Samajam Temple Trust in Golconda Zone.
Citizens have been asked to deposit the sacred waste between 8.30 am and 11 am at the listed locations, and no items will be accepted after 11 am, the press release added.
