GHMC to launch month-long sanitation drive across 300 wards

GHMC will conduct a month-long sanitation drive from February 3 to 28 across 300 wards in Hyderabad. The drive targets legacy waste, C&D debris, green waste, and residual waste, covering roadsides, lakes, parks, foot overbridges, and slum areas.

Hyderabad: To ensure comprehensive cleanliness and eliminate garbage vulnerable points, the GHMC will start a sanitation drive from February 3 to 28, covering 300 wards.

The drive was mainly focused on the removal of legacy waste, municipal solid waste, construction and demolition (C&D) debris, green waste, and residual waste generated from engineering and urban biodiversity works, a press release said.


The sanitation activities will begin daily at 6.30 am and will be carried out in a phased manner across different urban assets. The schedule included cleaning of foot overbridges, flyovers, roadsides, medians, lakes, nalas, footpaths, parks and slum areas, besides removal of waste accumulated near electric transformers and poles, said the release.
