GHMC to launch new portal for birth and death registrations

Hyderabad: The GHMC will launch a new Civil Registration System (CRS) portal for birth and death registrations.
The GHMC Commissioner, R V Karnan, held a meeting with officials concerned on birth and death registration, along with a sensitisation programme on the upcoming CRS Portal, according to a press statement.
During the meeting, he emphasised the importance of timely registration of births and deaths and the prompt issuance of certificates as a key statutory responsibility of GHMC. Officials were briefed on the Registration of Births and Deaths (RBD) Act and the upcoming CRS Portal, which will enable citizens to register births and deaths online through a simplified and citizen-friendly digital platform.
The GHMC official also reviewed the status of vector-borne disease prevention measures, with directions to ensure 100% utilisation of adulticides and larvicides, intensify surveillance and source reduction activities, strengthen interventions around positive cases, and conduct special Friday Dry Day drives across all GHMC Circles, which started on August 7.
The Chief Medical Officer of Health reviewed circle-wise dengue cases, seasonal preparedness, mosquito behaviour, and outbreak response measures. The Metropolitan Surveillance Unit (MSU) presented updates on disease surveillance, hotspot mapping, and coordinated field interventions.
