GHMC to launch special e-waste collection drive in Greater Hyderabad on Jan 12, 13
The GHMC will conduct a two-day citywide e-waste collection drive on January 12 and 13 across all 300 wards. Dedicated vehicles will collect discarded electronic items from homes and public areas for scientific recycling at authorised centres.

Hyderabad: The GHMC is launching a special drive on ‘E-waste’ on January 12 and 13 iacross all 300 wards, aiming to remove accumulated E-waste from houses, offices and public areas to maintain cleanliness standards in the city.
GHMC Commissioner R V Karnan released an awareness handout regarding the list of E-waste materials to be collected.
The items include large appliances such as fridges, washing machines and air conditioning sets; small appliances such as mixers, iron boxes, and hair dryers; IT and telecom equipment such as computers, mobiles, and chargers; consumer electronics such as TVs, music systems and cameras; batteries; and other electrical items including UPS, inverters, and batteries.
The GHMC deployed dedicated collection vehicles in every circle, covering a total of 30 GHMC circles, to collect E-waste material. All collected E-waste material will be processed at authorised processing centres through a scientific process.
On Saturday, GHMC authorities campaigned about the E-waste drive in colonies through public announcement systems to create an awareness among citizens of Greater Hyderabad.
