GITAM hosts three-day ISTAM-2020 conference
The theme of the three day conference is "high performance computing by using mechanics".

Sangareddy: Prof. Rajath Mona, Director Of IIT-Bhilai, on Wednesday said the advent of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning was set to bring about a world of change in engineering.
Addressing the 65th Indian Society of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (ISTAM-2020) online conference jointly organised by Department of Mathematics and Mechanical Engineering of GITAM University, Hyderabad in association with IIT-Kharagpur, Prof. Rajath Mona said that computing, AI and ML will boost engineering in many ways. The theme of the three day conference is “high performance computing by using mechanics”.
Dr. GP Raja Sekhar, President, ISTAM briefly explained the evolution of ISTAM and its role in nurturing the young minds to achieve specific targets.
M Sri Bharat, President, GITAM chaired the online inaugural session, explained briefly about GITAM and expressed his keen interest to take up joint research projects.
Prof. N Siva Prasad, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, GITAM, Hyderabad said that without mathematics there is no engineering . He shared his experience on how applied mechanics helps to solve the real-time problem.
Dr. P Srinivas, Convenor, ISTAM-2020 proposed the vote of thanks.
Prof. N Seetharamaiah, Principal, School of Technology, Prof GA Rama Rao, Principal, School of Science also took part in the inaugural session.
