Sangareddy: GITAM School of Pharmacy (SoP), GITAM Deemed to be University, Hyderabad, has bagged the National Educational Excellence Awards for 2021 under the category of ‘Most Promising and Emerging Pharmacy College of the Year-2021’. The award was given based on quality education, outstanding administration and leading infrastructure.

Further, based on preparedness and execution of virtual classes for smooth academic functioning during the pandemic, the institute also received another award under the category of ‘Outstanding Performance in Virtual Knowledge Delivery during Pandemic’.

Prof G Shiva Kumar, Principal, SoP, received the award recently during a programme held recently in Bengaluru.

World Pharmacists Day–2021 was celebrated in SoP, in association with Indian Pharmacy Graduates Association (IPGA) Telangana on Friday. The theme of the event was, ‘Pharmacy: Always trusted for your health’.

The chief guest for the occasion was G Koteshwar Rao, Former Drugs Inspector (Vigilance & Intelligence)

Pro Vice-chancellor Prof N Siva Prasad addressed the students and faculty members about the importance of pharmacists in society and their responsibilities in ensuring proper healthcare facilities. This was followed by two lecture sessions.
