Gitanjali Devashray: Reinforcing the necessity of healthy food

In today's times, where maintaining good health has become a challenge for all, it becomes highly important to make children aware about the right food to be eaten.

Gitanjali Devashray students class III participated in an integrated project on ‘Food and Nutrition’ wherein different aspects of food were explained to students. The virtual event was organised to inculcate the approach of integrating diverse subjects and the spirit of collaborative learning.

A wide spectrum on food was covered in terms of – food and its importance, it’s nutritional value, difference between healthy and junk food, staple food consumed in different States, different ways of cooking, significance of fruits and vegetables and so on.

In today’s times, where maintaining good health has become a challenge for all, it becomes highly important to make children aware about the right food to be eaten. Children enjoyed activities like doing a home survey where they got aware of the eating habits of their family members which in turn led them to correct their eating habits.

To understand the importance of a healthy diet, was the idea behind the project wherein students prepared projects for all subjects based on a common theme to reinforce the necessity of healthy food.
