Hyderabad: Union Home Minister Amit Shah asked Telangana BJP leaders to give a fitting reply to the TRS for the allegations leveled by it on the paddy procurement issue.

Interacting with four MPs, three MLAs along with other senior party leaders in New Delhi, he gave them directions on the steps to be taken to strengthen the party on all fronts. He complimented the State leadership on the victory of Eatala Rajender in Huzurabad Assembly constituency.

The meeting of State leaders with Amit Shah assumes significance in the wake of the visit of a State government delegation to meet Union Food, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Piyush Goyal on paddy procurement issue and protests organized by the TRS in support of farmers.

Amit Shah instructed the BJP leaders to counter the allegations made by Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and TRS leaders on the procurement issue. The leaders should also explain to the people the failures of the State government.

Stating that the programmes of the party and the Centre were completely different, Shah said the State leadership should take up programmes like padayatra taken by the State president Bandi Sanjay Kumar.

Shah said he would also be visiting the State soon for two days. He asked the State leadership to chalk out a plan for his visit.
