Hyderabad: The Shamshabad police have booked a case against JM Joshi, owner of Goa pan masala and his son and actor Sachin Joshi for cheating and under the Trade Mark Act for violation of trademark.
According to the police, a complaint was lodged by A.V Suresh Kumar (61), a businessman from Saidabad in Hyderabad against SM Joshi, Sachin Joshi and the management of Golden Fingers Food products in Gagan Pahad.
Suresh alleged that Joshi and Co. who are operating all over India are using the trademark of Manikchand illegally.
One such factory named Golden Finger Food products was raided and pan masala and raw materials, all put together worth Rs 1.2 crore was seized.
Golden Finger Food products violated trademark of “7 hills Manikchand” by manufacturing and selling pan masala under brand name “Manikchand” without requisite trademark and thereby cheating general public and “7 hills” company, police said.
The Rajiv Gandhi International Airport police are investigating.
