Nirmal: A goat and stray dog were reportedly killed by a leopard on the outskirts of Sirala village in Bhainsa mandal on Thursday. The incident created a flutter in the rural parts of this mandal. The animals received fatal injuries on their necks and died on the spot.
Residents of Borigaon in neighboring Thanur mandal claimed that a leopard sighted in the edges of the habitation recently. The same carnivore might have attacked the two animals, suspected a local. Bhainsa Forest deputy range officer told Telangana Today that no pug marks were recovered at the spot of the incident. “The spot was hilly terrain. We could trace pugmarks of a carnivore. It might be either leopard or wolf,” he stated. He requested the public not to enter deep inside of the wild which might result in similar instances.
