Goat, whiskey, silk saree and chicken: Prizes for Dasara lucky draw in Kothagudem
It is planned to sell nearly 1000 coupons and so far over 500 coupons have been sold.

Kothagudem: The organisers of Dasara Navaratri festival in Kothagudem town have come up with an innovative lucky draw offer to make the festival celebration a bit more enjoyable for both men and women.
Poshammagudi centre Durga puja pandal at Ramanjaneya Colony has offered a 10 kg male goat as the first prize, the second prize is a silk saree worth Rs 5000, the third prize is two full bottles of Blenders’ Pride whiskey while the fourth prize is traditional dress worth Rs 2000 for females and the fifth prize is country chicken worth Rs.1,000.
The cost of the coupon is Rs 100. Speaking to Telangana Today, the pandal organiser Navathan informed that it is the first time they installed Durga matha idol to celebrate Durga Navaratri. He said they wanted to celebrate the festival in an innovative manner and hence came up with the lucky draw idea.

People from Hyderabad, Nizamabad, Bhadrachalam, Manugur and other places besides the residents of Kothagudem have bought the coupons; he said adding that most of them were from his friends circle and acquaintances. Navathan said he posted the lucky draw card on his WhatsApp status and after watching it those outside Kothagudem bought the coupons by making UPI payments. BRS leader MP Vaddiraju Ravichandra has brought 100 coupons after learning about the lucky draw to support the festival organisers.
The coupons of Dasara lucky draw offer titled ‘100 kottu mekanu pattu’ (Pay Rs 100 get a goat) would be drawn on October 11 at Kothagudem Club at 8 am. Selling of coupons started on October 3, he added.
It might be recalled that a few persons from Boyapalli village in Tandur mandal of Mancherial district came up with a similar lucky draw offer with a goat, scotch whiskey and others as prizes.
