Godavari receding at Bhadrachalam, second warning withdrawn
The Godavari river at Bhadrachalam receded below 48 ft on Friday, leading to withdrawal of the second warning. While inflows decreased, the river remains above the first warning level, leaving agricultural lands and villages inundated. Several reservoirs in Khammam remain on alert.

Kothagudem: Water level in river Godavari has been receding at Bhadrachalam and the officials have withdrawn the second warning level as the water dropped below 48 feet on Friday.
The water level was at 48.8 feet at 7 am and it receded to 47.9 feet at 9 am. At 1 pm the water level was at 46.20 feet with a discharge of 10.59 lakh cusecs and the river was flowing above the first warning level.
As the inflows from the upper catchment area of the river decreased the water level would recede further, officials said. Agricultural fields and several villages on the banks of the river were still inundated by the flood waters.
In Khammam, inflows into Palair reservoir were receding while inflows into Lanka Sagar and Wyra reservoirs were stable. Water level in river Munneru at Kalvoddu area in Khammam was also receding. Of the 1061 tanks in the district 310 were at surplus.
