Godavari river crosses 41 ft at Bhadrachalam as inflows increase; First warning level nears
The Godavari River at Bhadrachalam crossed the 41-foot mark on Saturday, nearing the first warning level of 43 feet. Inflows surged due to heavy rain in tributary catchments. Authorities have placed DDRF teams on standby and issued precautionary alerts.

Kothagudem: Water level in river Godavari at Bhadrachalam continues to rise and crossed the 40 feet mark on Saturday.
The water level at 10 am was 41.10 feet; it reached 41.30 feet at 12 noon and it remained steady at 41.30 feet at 1 pm. The first warning level is 43 feet. Godavari received huge inflows as Godavari tributaries like Wainganga, Wardha and Sabari overflowed due to heavy rains in their catchment area in the past couple days.
The district officials have alerted the residents in low lying areas to be cautious in view of the increasing Godavari flood level. Superintendent of Police B Rothith Raju inspected the flood situation at Godavari Pushkar Ghats on Friday.
He said five DDRF teams were readied and asked the public to dial-100 to avail their services in case of emergency. The rain situation in the district remained normal as there was no rainfall in the majority of the mandals.
