Kothagudem: The water level in the Godavari at Bhadrachalam has been rising due to heavy inflows from upstream dams.
At 5 pm, the river stood at 41.50 feet with a discharge of 8.68 lakh cusecs and was expected to rise further. District officials have advised residents along the riverbanks to remain cautious as the first warning level is 43 feet.
Meanwhile, most parts of Khammam and Kothagudem districts remained dry, except for a few mandals which recorded light to moderate rainfall on Friday. Of the 1,061 irrigation tanks in Khammam, 544 have reached surplus levels, while 275 are between 90 and 100 percent of their Full Tank Level (FTL).
