Godavari water levels on the rise at Bhadrachalam; first warning issued
The Godavari River at Bhadrachalam crossed the first warning level of 43 feet on Wednesday, prompting authorities to alert villagers and position flood duty officers for relief and rescue operations as transportation to several riverside villages was disrupted.

Kothagudem: The first warning has been issued as the water level in river Godavari crossed the 43 feet mark at Bhadrachalam in the district on Wednesday.
The flood level reached the first warning level of 43 feet at 8.15 am and there has been a forecast of further rise, District Collector Jitesh V Patil said, adding that all the flood duty officers were positioned at Bhadrachalam to carry out relief and rescue operations.
Transportation to several villages on the banks of the river was cut off with the rise in the water level in the river, following which officials alerted the villagers. It is the first time in this season that the Godavari crossed the first warning level at Bhadrachalam.
