Gold worth Rs.75 lakh seized from woman at Hyderabad airport

The gold concealed in the form of paste was recovered during checking from the passenger who had arrived from Dubai.

Hyderabad: Customs authorities seized 1593 grams of gold valued at Rs.74.87 lakh from a woman passenger at the RGI Airport early on Wednesday.

In a separate case, Custom officials seized 40,000 sticks of foreign cigarettes illegally imported into the country. The cigarettes were valued at Rs.4 lakh and were seized from a passenger who arrived from Abu Dhabi. The cigarette consignment was confiscated and a case was booked. Investigation is going on.
