Good Friday observed in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: Christians across the city observed Good Friday with fasting and special mass, remembering the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
Several churches in the city hosted special services with Covid-19 precautions in place. Many churches telecasted the services live on various platforms to avoid huge crowds.
Apart from special mass and meditation, churches including St. Joseph’s Cathedral organised Passion Plays — a recreation of the trial and crucifixion of Christ, which also includes the Way of the Cross with persons carrying wooden crosses.
Several people attended the event. The onlookers were seen wearing masks and maintaining social distance.
Elaborate arrangements for the day, including meditating on the last seven words spoken by Christ, were also made. After Good Friday, the rising of Christ will be celebrated as Easter on Sunday.
