Google doodle marks the beginning of ICC Women’s World Cup Tournament

Hyderabad: Google has now come up with a new doodle to celebrate the commencement of the ICC Women’s World Cup Tournament. The 12th edition of the Women’s Cricket World Cup began at 6.30 am IST on Friday at the Bay Oval Stadium in New Zealand.

To commemorate the same, the newly released Google doodle showcases six female cricketers playing the game in the presence of audiences in the background.


Moreover, this time Google has also added some effects to the doodle. When you visit the Google homepage and click on the doodle representing the Women’s Cricket World Cup, you will find cricket balls moving on your screen from the left to the right and to play this again, you can click on the confetti popper at the bottom of the page.

The first international cricket tournament match took place in 1844 between Canada and the United States. The first women’s World Cup tournament was held in 1973 and was won by England.

This year around eight women’s cricket teams have participated in the tournament to compete.
