Google has marked the occasion of the opening day of 2020 Tokyo Olympics with an animated Doodle Champion Island Games. The doodle featured seven sports mini-games and dozens of daring side quests.
And now, just two weeks after the conclusion of the Tokyo Olympics, Google is back with Doodle Champion Island. But this time, it is for the 2020 Summer Paralympics Games.
Same as before, the doodle featured Lucky the Ninja Cat. Users are allowed to play games as Lucky on behalf of four teams – Blue, Red, Yellow and Green.
And the seven games remain the same – table tennis, skateboarding, archery, rugby, swimming, climbing, and marathon.
The Google Doodle page also explains that users can now lookout for bonus levels and ‘brand new side quests’. “If you’re one of the chosen few who collects every scroll, you can even see what’s next for our favourite feline,” the page reads.
The interactive doodle lets a user join one of the four colour teams to contribute to the real-time global leaderboard. “Come back tomorrow to keep up with Lucky, check the real-time team leaderboard standings, and watch the action unfold in the Doodle Champion Island Games!” the page adds.
The 2020 Summer Paralympics branded as Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games will be held between August 24 and September 5.
The interactive animations and characters of the Doodle Champion Island Games were created by Tokyo, Japan-based animation studio, STUDIO4°C.
