Google rolls out Gemini 2.5 Pro: Its most advanced AI model yet
The Gemini app received a significant update, introducing new features like personalization, Canvas, and Audio Overviews. Google also made its Deep Research and Gems tools freely accessible, while launching its fastest model to date — Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking — followed shortly by the release of its most advanced AI yet, Gemini 2.5 Pro, now available to all users.
Hyderabad: Google had charged ahead ambitiously with artificial intelligence (AI) innovations and underlined how its technology is enhancing user interface, developer tools, and environmental initiatives. For more than two decades, the company has invested in AI and machine learning and the latest updates reflect an integration of AI into everyday activities.
The Gemini app has seen the most major upgrade possible in personalization features, Canvas, and Audio Overviews. Alongside these improvements, the company made all its Deep Research tools and Gems free and introduced its fastest model to date-Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking-and later with access to all-a prodigy-Gemini 2.5 Pro.
AI Overviews, powered by Gemini 2.0, provide AI assistance to over a billion users in dealing with some of the hardest questions regarding coding, math, and multimodal searches. Now there is an experiment in the AI Mode that augments searches because of further insights and helpful links. Gemini weighs user search history for personalized answers, while integration with Photos and YouTube will improve that even more in the future.
The Pixel Drop boasts such features as improved Scam Detection, Auto-bedtime Mode, and Gemini Live to facilitate real-time communications in 45 languages.
In shopping, new immersive tools such as vision match help users discover clothes and beauty products using AI-generated imagery. Gemma 3 is a portable and high-performance model for AI app development on-device.
Gemini Robotics was also announced by Google with an aim to be the core of the next generation of helpful robots and the pioneering satellite, FireSat-an AI-powered wildfire detection system. Lastly, three new AI activities were launched for supporting biodiversity and sustainability.
