Hyderabad: A government school teacher died by suicide at a lodge in Medchal on Saturday.

The man, identified as K Ramesh, worked as a school assistant at a government school in Medak.

Before ending his life, Ramesh recorded a selfie video of around seven minutes, giving details about the reasons that forced him to take the step. He said that people were torturing him after he delayed repayment of loans.

He asked the authorities to take action against those who filed court cases against him for failing to repay the loans, despite having paid much more than he had borrowed. He also apologised to his family.

Sources said Ramesh had taken loans from multiple people and, in order to repay both the principal and the interest amounts, had sold off his house and land in his native place.
