Khammam: The Central and State governments have failed to control prices of diesel and petrol , alleged CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka. He took part in a padayatra here on Saturday in support of AICC leader Rahul Gandhi’s padayatra in Amethi in Uttar Pradesh on the day as part ‘Jan Jagran Abhiyan’ against inflation and increase of essential commodities. Addressing the gathering Vikramarka noted that the increase in petrol, diesel, gas and essential commodities was due to the incompetence of the Centre and State. The governments were exploiting the poorer sections.

Governments were benefiting the middlemen and their agents by bringing changes in the laws. Despite the high crude oil prices in the world market, previous Congress governments provided petrol and diesel to the people at low prices. But today, despite the very low price of crude oil in the global market, the governments were looting the poor with heavy taxes on petroleum products. Congress would fight till the inflated prices were brought down, Vikramarka said.

He alleged that the State government was following what the Centre was saying. The Centre has made it clear that it would not buy paddy in yasangi. In the same tone the ministers, MLAs and MPs in the State were asking farmers not to sow paddy in the yasangi season. District Congress president P Durgaprasad, leaders Mohammed Jawed, Rayala Nageshwara Rao, P Veerabhadram, Y Santhosh, D Sowjanya, M Shekar Goud and others were present.
