They urged people to follow Covid-19 protocol and preventive measures while celebrating the festival.

In a statement, the Governor said Sri Rama Navami is celebrated all over the country with great devotion and dedication. She said Lord Sri Rama was the personification of dharma for all his ideal qualities and also the remover of all fears and sins. She hoped that the blessings of Lord Sri Rama will help all to successfully fight and overcome the Covid-19 pandemic. “I appeal to you all to celebrate the festival duly adhering to the Covid-19 preventive measures and with the strict adherence to the Covid-appropriate behaviour,” she said.

He said the State was unable to celebrate Sri Sita Rama Kalyana Mahotsavam on a massive scale due to the pandemic. However, he urged all the devotees to witness the celestial wedding to be celebrated with a limited number of priests that would be telecast live from the Bhadrachalam shrine on their television sets at home.

The Chief Minister said the sacred bond of Goddess Sita and Lord Ram who made many sacrifices for the welfare of the world, was immortal and ideal for future generations. He prayed that the celestial couple shower blessings on all the people to lead a happy and healthy life.

The Assembly Speaker Pocharam Srinivas Reddy, the Council Chairman Gutha Sukhender Reddy, several Ministers and legislators also extended their greetings to the people of the State on the auspicious occasion.
