Govt employee’s body found in canal in Karimnagar

A government employee, Rachakonda Lachaiah (55), was found dead in Karimnagar’s Kakatiya canal after going missing while bathing. Police recovered his body near Chinthakunta following a search operation and registered a case based on a complaint by his wife

Karimnagar: A government employee, Rachakonda Lachaiah (55), who went missing in the Kakatiya canal on Sunday, was found dead.

According to police, Lachaiah, who was working as a veterinary assistant in Ellanthakunta of Rajanna-Sircilla district, had gone to the canal near Chinthakunta of Kothapalli mandal, on the outskirts of Karimnagar town, to take a bath on Sunday and was washed away.


As Lachaiah’s clothes and bike were found on the canal bank, police launched a search operation and later found the body on the outskirts of Chinthakunta.

Based on a complaint lodged by his wife Padma, police registered a case and began an investigation.
