Nalgonda: Energy Minister G Jagadish Reddy on Saturday said that teaching hospitals which came up at Nalgonda and Suryapet, have been saving the lives of the Covid patients in the region.

Telangana NRI Mahender Reddy donated 10 oxygen concentrators to the government general hospital of Suryapet which were handed over to the hospital by the Energy Minister.

Speaking on the occasion, Jagadish Reddy said that the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao had decided to set up medical colleges at Nalgonda and Suryapet to make the super specialty health services accessible to the people of the area, who were earlier forced to go to Hyderabad for such services.

These hospitals were now helping in saving the lives of patients in the pandemic time. Oxygen facility was also made available at Primary Health Centres, he added.

Reminding that door-to-door fever survey was going on in all villages, he said that the medical staff would extend the medical kits to those, who are tested positive for Covid-19. He stated that the best treatment for Covid-19 was available in government hospitals only and hence, the people should utilise them instead of spending lakhs of rupees for treatment in private hospitals.

Rajya Sabha member Badugula Lingaiah Yadav, District Libraries chiarman Nimmala Srinivas Goud, and Suryapet municipal corporation chairperson Perumalla Annapurnamma were also present.
