Hyderabad: The revised Dearness Allowance will be paid with the October 2026 salary on November 1. The DA arrears for January 2024 to September 2026 will be paid in 33 instalments, while those for July 2024 to September 2026 will be paid in 27 instalments. The arrears will be credited to employees’ General Provident Fund accounts.

The Telangana government has earlier announced two instalments of Dearness Allowance (DA) for its employees, with the revised rates effective from January and July 2024. The DA has been increased by 3.64 per cent from January 2024 and by another 2.73 per cent from July 2024.

The two instalments will impose an additional annual burden of around Rs 3,057 crore on the State exchequer, including Rs 1,747 crore for the first instalment and Rs 1,310 crore for the second.

Under the 2020 pay scale, DA has been raised from 33.67 per cent to 37.31 per cent from January 2024 and to 40.04 per cent from July 2024. For employees under the 2015 pay scale, it has been revised from 73.34 per cent to 78.06 per cent and subsequently to 81.72 per cent.

The burden is in addition to the DA instalments to be released for employees drawing UGC/AICTE pay scales, Zilla and Mandal Parishad staff, staff working in Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) drawing pay in the regular scale, as well as employees in other categories such as full-time contingent employees.
