Jangaon: Stating that the Telangana State is at the top in different sectors in the country, Panchayat Raj and Rural Development (PR & RD) Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao said that the Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was according high priority to the education sector and added that the government schools in the State would get a facelift soon to become the best schools in the country.

He reviewed the progress of the implementation of the ‘Mana Ooru – Mana Badi’ programme at his camp office in Palakurti mandal centre and also at Ramarajaupally school of the Devaruppula mandal in the district on Wednesday.


Addressing the officials, teachers and others, Rao said that the State government had decided to spend Rs 7,400 crore for the modernization of the schools in the State. “In the first phase, 176 schools against the total of 508 schools in Jangaon district had been selected for the implementation of the ‘Mana Ooru- Mana Badi’ and provide corporate level quality education to the students,” Rao added.

However, Rao underscored the need for the joint efforts of the people’s representatives and officials in a planned manner for the development of the schools, and urged the donors and philanthropists join hands with the government in this endeavour aimed at transforming the schools completely. “We will give credit to the donors by displaying their names on the boards at the respective school and also naming the schools after their dear ones, if Rs one crore is donated to a school,” Rao promised.

He also said that there is a need for the refreshment courses for the teachers as suggested by Executive Director of the Bala Vikasa, an NGO, Singareddy Shoury Reddy who has been striving for the development of the schools for a long time on behalf his NGO.

Later, PR and RD Minister visited the Ramarajupally village and assured to sanction road from village to Vanaparty and lighting to the dividers at Singarajupally, Nirmaala, and Ramarajupally villages.

District Collector Ch Shivalingaiah, Additional Collectors Bhaskar, Hameed, Zilla Parishad CEO Vijayalakshmi, DRDO Ram Reddy, Vandemathram Foundation president Ravindra, Bala Vikasa ED S Shoury Reddy, ZPTC Bhargavi and others attended the meeting at Ramarajupally.
