Jangaon/Warangal Urban: The State government is taking all steps to provide better medical service to COVID-19 patients as there is a spurt in COVID cases in the second wave, Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao said on Thursday.
Speaking after inaugurating a COVID care centre set up at the Community Health Centre (CHC), Palakurthy, in Jangaon district, the Minister appealed to the people to protect themselves from the COVID infection by following the precautions, and help the government contain the spread of the virus.
“To provide better treatment, we have taken special measures to provide Remdesivir vials, oxygen and other medicine at all the government hospitals,” he said and added that a 100-bed isolation centre was also set up at the social welfare residential school at Palakurthy for the benefit of the COVID patients.
“We are providing quality food, medicine and continuous medical supervision at the isolation centre. The COVID patients can make use of this facility,” Rao added.
Earlier in the day, Rao made a surprise visit to the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Hospital (MGMH) in Warangal and directed the officials to ensure the good treatment to the COVID patients.
He has handed over 25 oxygen concentrators to the MGMH. Bala Vikasa, an NGO, in association with Amazon has provided oxygen concentrators to the hospital to meet the oxygen needs of the patients.
Rao appreciated the Bala Vikasa for coming forward to provide a total of 100 oxygen concentrator machines to the government hospitals in the State.
