Govt teacher suspended, booked for sexually harassing girl students in Telangana’s Khammam

Khammam: A secondary grade teacher (SGT) in the district was suspended from services for allegedly sexually harassing girl students.
The teacher, G Veeraiah, working at Mandal Parishad Upper Primary School at Narasimhulagudem in Kusumanchi mandal was accused of touching girl students inappropriately and threatening them not to reveal his acts to anyone.
The students took the matter to the attention of their parents, who lodged complaints with the school authorities and the police. In an inquiry conducted by the mandal education officer, the allegations against the teacher were found true.
Following this, Additional Collector (Local Bodies) and DEO Dr P Srija issued orders suspending Veeraiah. A case under Section 75 of BNS and Section 7 read with Section 8 of POCSO Act was registered against him at Kusumanchi police station.
