Hyderabad: The State government will soon unveil a core urban city plan under its Telangana Rising programme. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy directed officials to expedite development works for the same.
Chairing a review meeting at the Secretariat on Monday, Revanth Reddy ordered immediate reforms in government schools within the core urban region. He asked officials to construct integrated and modern complexes by merging poorly equipped institutions and providing free breakfast, lunch, snacks and transport to reduce the burden on families. He also instructed the setting up of special clinics to ensure access to healthcare.
Warning GHMC and municipal officials of strict action for negligence, the Chief Minister wanted permanent buildings for all government offices with solar rooftops and asked officials to commence construction of new buildings on a priority basis. He ordered conservation of lakes, creation of a digital land database, and use of drones for traffic regulation.
Revanth Reddy also sought development of Hussain Sagar as a world-class tourist hub, where parks will be redesigned with children’s play zones, vending zones for street vendors, and robotic cleaning equipment for drains. He instructed officials for strict enforcement of fire safety in high-rises and a separate management system for their water and sewage.
