Kothagudem: Government Whip and Pinapaka MLA Rega Kantha Rao launched ‘Jatayu’, a portable vacuum-based cleaning machine for clearing garbage at Manugur in the district on Friday. At a programme organised by Manugur Municipality, the MLA inaugurated the machine which was procured at a cost of Rs 22 lakh. Speaking on the occasion, he said that he apprised Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and MA&UD Minister KT Rama Rao of the issues being faced by the municipality.
Kantha Rao thanked the Chief Minister and Rama Rao for sanctioning the ultra-modern garbage clearing machine for the municipality to ensure cleanliness in Manugur town. Special focus was laid on developing the town and maintaining cleanliness in the municipality, he said.
The MLA explained that the vacuum-based cleaning machine could lift coconuts, glass, bottles, plastic bags and leaves even under monsoon conditions with zero visible dust emission in the streets. It can do ten times better cleaning with less manpower thus enhancing sanitation conditions, he added.
He said that after the formation of Telangana State, villages and towns were being developed through Palle, Pattana Pragathi programmes. The development activities that were going on in Manugur town were a testimonial of that.
The event was attended by Manugur mandal TRS party leaders and municipal officials.
