Mahabuababad: Minister for Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Errabelli Dayakar Rao said he along with local MLA B Shankar Naik will take the issue of the murder of Kusuma Deekshith Reddy (9) to the notice of Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao and ensure that the culprit is given the maximum punishment.

The Minister, along with MP Maloth Kavitha, Shankar Naik and others visited the house of Deekshith’s parents at Shanigarapuram village near here on Monday, and paid tributes to the boy. After consoling the parents and relatives of Deekshith Reddy, the Minister said the State government would do justice to the family of the deceased.

“It is very sad. An active boy was kidnapped and murdered. It is an irreparable loss to the family. The parents, relatives and villagers have sought stringent punishment for the culprit, and we will ensure that for the accused by collecting all the evidences. The villagers are demanding maximum punishment for the murder so as to discourage other criminals from resorting to such crime in future,” Dayakar Rao said, adding that the government will stand by the family.

Deekshith Reddy, the elder son of Ranjith Reddy and Vasantha, was kidnapped and murdered allegedly by one Manda Sagar, (23), a bike mechanic and neighbour, on Sunday (October 19).  Police  arrested the accused on October 22.
