Hyderabad: Graduate voter enrolment in the Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad and Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Graduates’ Constituencies is progressing at a sluggish pace, with only 3.55 lakh applications received so far, against the 10.36 lakh voters registered in 2021.
According to information shared by the Telangana Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), 1,53,745 graduates had applied through Form-18 in the Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad Graduates’ Constituency as of Thursday.
Of the total applications, 43,903 were from Rangareddy district, followed by 28,733 from Medchal-Malkajgiri district. Only 17,165 graduates from Hyderabad had applied. The constituency had a total of 5,31,268 voters in 2021, including 3,36,256 men, 1,94,944 women and 68 transgender voters.
In the Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Graduates’ Constituency, 2,01,966 graduates submitted applications in Form-18, with the highest number coming from Nalgonda district at 38,645, followed by Khammam with 29,850 applications. In 2021, a total of 5,05,565 graduates, including 3,32,634 men, 1,72,864 women and 67 transgender voters, were registered.
With elections to the Mahabubnagar-Rangareddy-Hyderabad and Warangal-Khammam-Nalgonda Graduates’ Constituencies due in March 2027, the Telangana CEO is preparing electoral rolls for the two constituencies, with November 1, 2026, as the qualifying date.
Applications can be submitted online through the CEO website, https://ceotelangana.nic.in. Alternatively, Form-18, along with the required documents and certificates, can be submitted in person to the Electoral Registration Officers (EROs), Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs), designated officers or additional designated officers.
Applications can also be sent by post to the ERO, AERO or designated officer. The deadline for receipt of applications in Form-18 is November 6.
All graduates whose names have been included in the existing electoral rolls can submit an application using the modified Form-18. However, the Electors Photo Identity Card (EPIC) number is not mandatory for enrolment in the Graduates’ Constituencies.
Every application must be accompanied by authenticated copies of the requisite documents and certificates. Mere reference to an entry in the existing electoral roll will not be considered sufficient to determine a person’s eligibility for enrolment in the electoral rolls.
Draft electoral rolls will be published on November 25. Claims and objections can be filed between November 25 and December 10, and will be disposed of by December 25. Publication of the final electoral rolls is scheduled for December 30.
