Adilabad: People picked up argument with officials when they learnt that their names were missing in the list for four key welfare schemes including Rythu Bharosa, Indiramma Housing scheme, Indiramma Athmeeya Bharosa and ration card distribution set to be launched by the government on January 26, during gram sabhas meant for selecting beneficiaries for the second day in several parts of erstwhile Adilabad district on Wednesday.

People staged a protest when they discovered their names went missing in the list of beneficiaries of the four schemes during the meeting held at Vaddadi village in Thamsi mandal, Sunkidi village in Thalamadugu mandal, Shyampur village in Utnoor mandal. Activists of the BRS raised slogans against the government for failing to include the photograph of local MLA Anil Jadhav in a flex poster in Boath mandal centre.

Similarly, residents expressed disappointment over the list of the beneficiaries at Akkapur village in Nirmal mandal, Gangapur village in Chintalamanepalli mandal and Mogadagad village in Koutala mandal of Kumram Bheem Asifabad district. People were unhappy over the delay in commencing the meeting at Korsini village in Chintalamanepalli mandal.

Meanwhile, the meetings held in different parts of Mancherial town witnessed ruckus as people raised objections to the process of selection of the beneficiaries. People confronted the officials when they did not find their names in the list in Nennal mandal. Locals demanded cancellation of the meeting at Kommera village in Chennur mandal.

Participants of the meetings felt inconvenience due to poor arrangements such as shade and chairs at the meetings. They left the venues criticising the officials for showing negligence in providing basic amenities. People were upset when the meeting was called off abruptly in some other places of the district.
