Grand celestial wedding of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy held at Yadadri
Yadadri-Bhongir: The celestial wedding of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy was conducted on a grand note on the hill shrine here on Friday. As part of annual brahmostavams, the Yadadri Lakshminarsimha Swamy temple (Balalayam) was decked up with decorative lights, and the playing of devotional tunes has set the tone for the auspicious occasion.
The temple priests performed the celestial wedding of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy at Balalyam in ‘Abhijit lagna muhurtham’. Prior to the celestial wedding, the presiding deity was brought to the spot in a procession. Earlier, Endowments Minister A Indrakaran Reddy offered `pattu vastram’ and `muthayala talambralu’ to the temple authorities on behalf of the State government.
Special Secretary in CMO Bhupal Reddy, Secretary to Legislative Assembly Affairs Narsinga Rao, district Collector Pamela Sathpathi and Alair MLA Gongidi Sunitha also attended the programme.
Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao was scheduled to attend the ceremony but had to cancel his visit as he was indisposed. Earlier in the day, on behalf of the TTD, its Deputy EO Ramesh babu and TTD chairman’s wife Swarna Latha Reddy offered ‘pattu vastralu’ to the temple EO N Geetha for the celestial wedding. Every year, TTD sends ‘pattu vastralu’ for the celestial wedding of Sri Lakshmi Narasimha Swamy during brahmotsavams.
