Popular Indian film director, actor, singer and producer M Sasikumar participates in Green India Challenge — initiated by Rajya Sabha MP Joginapally Santosh Kumar — by planting saplings at his residence in Chennai. Speaking on the occasion, he said that he participated by accepting the challenge from character artiste Jaya Prakash and inspired by the TRS MP.

“It’s our responsibility to plant trees and save them as it would help reduce the pollution,” said Sasikumar and nominated actors Samuthirakani, Nikhil Vimal and Anjali to continue the challenge.

Earlier, Telugu anchor Deepthi Vajpayee too participated in the Green India Challenge. She has planted saplings at Jubilee Hills park and said that she took part in the challenge as she was inspired by Santosh Kumar.

Sharing that green is a great and pleasant colour, she said, “Let’s all join hands in taking such a great initiative forward and help save the environment. We need clean air for our very existence and it’s our collective responsibility to spread awareness about increasing the green cover in the city.”

She thanked the Rajya Sabha MP for bringing about this positive change among people with his novel initiative. The anchor further nominated AP CID Chief Sunil Kumar, actor and Bigg Boss fame Archana Shastri and popular music director RP Patnaik to take part in the Green India Challenge.
