Greyhounds ASI injured in IED blast triggered by Maoists in Telangana

Kothagudem: A Greyhounds Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police (ASI) engaged in anti-extremist combing operations in Cherla mandal in the district has suffered injuries after suspected Maoists triggered an improvised explosive device (IED) on Wednesday morning.
The incident took place on Battinapalli and Yerrampadu villages in Peddamidisileru reserve forest area on Telangana-Chhattisgarh borders on Wednesday. It was said that two police teams have ventured into the forests for search operations on the day and one of the teams has become a target for the Maoists.
Superintendent of Police, Sunil Dutt and OSD V Tirupathi rushed to the spot on learning the development. The injured Greyhounds ASI was identified as Krishna Prasad, sources said.
