GRP, RPF nab two Maharashtra men for phone thefts at Secunderabad railway station
Accused involved in multiple phone thefts targeting sleeping rail passengers; duo works as labourers by day and turns to theft by night; stolen property recovered from them
Hyderabad: The Government Railway Police (GRP), Secunderabad, in coordination with the Railway Protection Force (RPF), nabbed two men from Maharashtra involved in multiple phone snatching and theft cases targeting rail passengers.
The arrested duo — Ashok Chouradya (70) and Sachin Gaikwad (35) — work as daily wage labourers during the day. By night, they frequent Secunderabad railway station to steal mobile phones and other valuables from passengers sleeping on platforms and in waiting halls. They were recently involved in a robbery case as well.
Acting on a tipoff, GRP and RPF officials apprehended the suspects and recovered stolen property from them.
