HYDERABAD: The Gujarat police, with the help of their Telangana counterparts, conducted searches at a few places in the city in connection with the child trafficking racket busted last week.

The searches were conducted in presence of members of the ‘Murugan gang’, who were arrested by the Gujarat police following ‘Operation Dev’, conducted last week to rescue a child who was kidnapped in Gujarat. Searches were conducted in some fertility centres in Kukatpally, Banjara Hills and Secunderabad.

The Gujarat police, with the help of Telangana police, recently arrested Bodashu Nagaraju alias Murugan, two of his accomplices, Kasrapu Tirupathi and Keleti Gangarajan. The gang is allegedly involved in child kidnapping and selling the infants.

The probe by the police revealed that the Murugan gang sold 25 children in a single year

The accused allegedly abducted infants from Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Delhi, and sold them through local agents for large sums.
