Guntur: Jana Sena leader, six others arrested in land scam
Jana Sena Party State general secretary Ammisetty Vasu and six others were arrested in connection with a Rs 10 crore land scam in Agatavarappadu village
Guntur: Seven persons including Jana Sena Party state general secretary Ammisetty Vasu, were arrested here on Tuesday in connection with a Rs 10 crore land scam in Agatavarappadu village of Pedakakani mandal in the district.
They had allegedly tried to grab land worth crores of rupees with fake documents. However, on a complaint from the victims, police took them into custody.
According to police, K. Narayanamma of Agatavarappadu had left a will and testament bequeathing her 1.42 acres of land to her nephew Sivasagar and his wife Padmaja. Narayanamma died in 2012 and some time later, Sivasagar also died.
Taking this as an opportunity, three persons – Y. Ammayya, realtor Radhikareddy and Ramanujam, through a media representative, created a fake will and documents in the name of former sarpanch of Kunchanapalli B. Srinivas . With the JSP leader and others found to be involved in the scam, police arrested them.
