Gurrambodu land encroachment: Uttam slams TRS leaders for ‘nexus’ with land mafia
The MP from Nalgonda also condemned BJP State president Bandi Sanjay Kumar for the latter's remarks against him in connection with the land encroachments
Hyderabad: TPCC president and MP N Uttam Kumar Reddy on Monday alleged that elected representatives of the TRS were encouraging encroachments in Huzurnagar Assembly constituency. He also alleged that TRS leaders had colluded with local goons as well as authorities and were encroaching upon forest lands in Gurrambodu thanda of Pedaveedu in Matampally mandal of Suryapet district along the banks of Krishna River. He demanded that the State government initiate measures to protect lands belonging to tribals.
Addressing a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan here, Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that thousands of acres of land worth crores of rupees was being encroached upon in Matampally area in Huzurnagar Assembly constituency. He accused local MLA S Saidi Reddy of supporting encroachers in collusion with the local police to illegally grab valuable lands. “Despite repeated complaints, Suryapet district authorities have not initiated any action to curb encroachments, though a couple of MROs were suspended in response to complaints lodged by the Congress,” he said.
The MP from Nalgonda also condemned BJP State president Bandi Sanjay Kumar for the latter’s remarks against him in connection with the land encroachments. “This is what happens when a corporator-level leader is made the State president of a party. He lacks basic decency. He should remember that I served the country as an Air Force pilot and fought against the enemies on the borders. He should be cautious in making such statements against me. If Bandi Sanjay is genuine about criticising Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao, he should then make the BJP government at the Centre order a CBI probe against the Chief Minister’s corrupt practices,” he said.
Uttam Kumar Reddy alleged that both BJP and TRS were two sides of the same coin and they were having a secret pact with the sole intention of damaging the Congress in Telangana State.
TPCC working president Ponnam Prabhakar and MLC T Jeevan Reddy also spoke on the occasion.
